Annual Events

A brief description of the events & programs are below:

Art Walk

Back to Business Day

Back To Business Day happens the last week of August. This is the day when parents can take care of all mandatory forms and collect teacher assignment for their kid.

Back to School BBQ

This is our first big event for the school year. There will be music, food vendors, after school enrichment vendors, PTSA info booth, etc. Garb some food or bring your own dinner and meet other Audubon Families.

Book Fair

Our week long book fair is held during conference week in October. Our Librarian, Ms. Reinardy, brings the best selections and genre varieties so you can find a book for anyone!

Dance Event

Audubon PTSA brings a week of dance workshop and lessons for all grades. At the end of the dance week we do a Dance Night event. Students get to show off all the moves they have learnt the past week. There will be music, food, and a lot of fun dancing!

Field Day

Field Day is run by the PE teacher and staff to promote fitness and play. Multiple stations are setup for kids to attempt and win prizes. Field Day is held in the morning during school. Following Field Day there will be a family BBQ where families can join their kids for lunch at school. BBQ lunch will be available to buy.

Hearing & Vision Screening

Washington State law requires that students be screened for near and far vision acuity and hearing. Per Washington State guidelines, hearing and vision screening will be held for all students. The screenings will start promptly at 8:45am in the classrooms that day and is expected to end at 2:50pm at the latest.

Ice Cream Social

This is a welcome back social in conjunction to Back to Business. After you take care of paper work enjoy a cup of cie cream and socialize with other Audubon families.

International Night

Share your home culture with our Audubon community! Hundreds of students, parents, grandparents, teachers and staff join together to create an evening of music, art, international sports, country displays, dancing, student performances and much more.

This is a fun, family and community event that is a fundraiser for the PTSA. Jogathon evnelops are disctributed 3 weeks prior for students to raise funds. On Jogathon day, all grades will run laps around the school. Event takes place in the morning of the school day, parents are welcome to come and cheer their kids.

Math Night

Students from all grades will share their math prowess with their friends and families in this fun-filled night of math.

Picture Day & Class photos

Individual picture day. All grades get their class pictures taken on class photos day. Every year PTSA works to ensure we have a good photography company working for us.

Read Across America & Bed Time Stories

This program celebrates the birthday of Dr. Seuss and the joy of reading! There will be a whole week of reading-related fun. Bed time stories is special, held on the Thursday during Read Across America Week. The staff will surprise the audience with a dress up and play. There will be quizes on popular books and more!

Reflections Art Contest

The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.

Science Fair

See our future scientists at work! Students in grades 3-5 can participate and demonstrate their science projects. Event is open to all to grades to come and see. We will also have interactive STEM booths from other science clubs and teams.

Art Docent

LWSD curriculum does not include Art. Audubon PTSA offers an Art Docent program where parent volunteers can step up to teach/assist with art lessons in class. As an art docent you can share your creative and artistic talents with the students. There will be plenty of help and lesson plans available to use. You will be working with your fellow art docents in your class and can cover one art lesson every month.

Artist In Residence

Birthday Book Club

A great way to celebrate your birthday in a lasting way with a book donation to Audubon's library. Ms. Reinardy will send a book club form that you can fill, and work with your child to select a book from the book list.

Audubon families can subscribe to newsletter to stay on top of the upcoming calendar of events, event information, important announcements, etc.

Extended Classes

Audubon PTSA provides several after school enrichment classes called extended classes for students such as chess, martial arts, sketching, all sport, etc. Extended classes are offered in October and February. Resgistrations will be online and information will be provided via enews and on the PTSA website.

Idylwood Park Restoration Project

This is community service project coordinated and organized by Audubon staff alumni, Laurie Gogic. This event is sponsored by Green Redmond. Audubon Families are encouraged to help join preserve and restore the habitat in Idylwood park.

Running Club

Running Club is our hugely popular program for all grades. Students run laps for 20 mins before bell. Parents equally love this program and see it as a way of keeping warm and fit through the winter days.

Staff Appreciation

As a way of saying Thank You, Audubon PTSA provides our teachers and staff with special breakfasts and lunches throughout the school year, as well as recognize staff birthdays and events during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Summer Play dates

Meet and play with other Audubon students and families. Summer Meet & Play begins mid July and is held once every week. Check our PTSA calendar for dates or subscribe to our enews.

Walk To School Month

Redmond SchoolPool is an initiative by the Redmond City to promote benefits of walking, staying fit, and staying safe on the roads. During the Walk to School month students are encouraged to walk, bike, carpool, or ride the bus.

Audubon Yearbook is a favorite annual student keepsake! This year it will be designed and executed by the photo company we are going to have a contract with. Volunteer parent photographers are recruited for each classroom and school event, taking candid photos of students, that will make their way into these fun-filled pages.

Emergency Preparedness

Audubon PTSA funds and supports emergency preparedness for each student at our school.

Room Parents

Room parents provide an incredibly valuable service to both the classroom teachers as well as to the school community.  Room Parents organize classroom parties, understand classroom volunteer opportunities and expectations, coordinate teacher recognition and appreciation, make the class families feel welcome and connected.
