Who is The Audubon PTSA Board?

The Audubon PTSA Board is a group of elected volunteers (called officers) who have oversight and accountability for the PTSA's programs and budget. We are very proud that our PTSA board reflects the diversity of our school community. Please take a moment to read the short biographies of each of our talented and hardworking board members.

Co-President – Lilach Geppert-Shapira

I was born in Israel and we moved to Redmond five and a half years ago. I'm married to Lior and we have 3 kids: Shachar, Tamar and Yotam. I'm a psychologist and a parent educator working part time. I've been volunteering at school for the past 5 years. I've served as the President for two years, VP of fundraising and this year as co-VP President, and as AVP of the Redmond area in council. I love volunteering, helping out and being the connecting link between parents, students and school's staff members.

Co-President – Julia Rabinovich

My name is Julia Rabinovich, and this is my first year on the Audubon PTSA Board. I have two kids: one is the 2nd grader at Audubon, and another just started Middle School. We moved to Redmond from Toronto, Canada, about three years ago, and this is my second year at Audubon. I am very happy to leave the cold winters and sweltering summers behind me. Our family enjoys all the incredible nature around us; we love kayaking and swimming in the lake.

Our family loves Audubon, and I am very excited to contribute to the Audubon communities in any way I can. I look forward to PTSA returning to many of its activities in this “new normal”.

Co-Treasurer – Hanyue Jiang

Hello! My name is Hanyue Jiang. I am Chinese and have been living in WA since 2009. I have two daughters: 6th grade and 4th grade. Both of them had a wonderful time in Audubon.

I am excited to be part of the Audubon Elementary PTSA, and this is my fourth year as a board member. Since I grew up in China, I don’t have experience with how US education works. Joining PTSA is the best way to understand the school system; I truly enjoyed the experience.  I like to spend time with my family and friends, working out, and playing with my dog in my free time.

Hello! I am from Bombay, India. Our family moved from Orange County, CA, to the Audubon area in 2012. This is my 10th year at Audubon! My older son graduated from Audubon and is now in 10th grade at the Juanita Cambridge Program. My youngest is at Audubon in 4th grade. I have served as volunteer, chair, and board member for the past 8 years. I'm also serving as the Area VP for the Rose Hill School PTSAs at the LWPTSA Council Board. I am proud to be part of PTSA. It is incredible, the work PTSAs do for student enrichment, child advocacy, and the school, keep families connected, and they do it very well! When I was starting to help the PTSA I was inspired by many mentors and parent friends by their passion and commitment in PTSA programs, the difference they could bring to the stakeholders, and that made me participate in it. Through PTSA I feel connected to my child's education, I'm helping taking care of PTSA business, I have also a great group of parents to interact and be friends with! Outside PTSA I love taking care of my business, I enjoy listening to carnatic music and WA outdoors.

Co-Vice President, Student Enrichment - Swati Tayal

Hello everyone, my name is Swati. This is my third year as an Audubon parent and first year as a PTSA board member. I have two kids: Tanvi, who will be going to 2nd grade and Viaan who is pretty much excited to start his school as kindergartener this year.

For the past two years, we as a family have enjoyed all the activities and programs organized by PTSA. Especially during COVID times, when there was a social disconnect for kids, events conducted by PTSA were able to bridge the gaps. I decided to join this community as I felt I am ready to give something back. This year, I will be serving as a Co-VP for Enrichment. I am very much looking forward to contributing to kids' academic and social-emotional development. After all, the purpose of Enrichment activities is to provide extended learning opportunities and help kids to pursue their own areas of interest and strengths.

Professionally, I have taken this time in my life to stay at home and focus on my family. Together we enjoy yoga, hiking, travelling, and playing board games. If I ever get some time alone, I enjoy baking, crafting, music and most importantly eating a whole bar of chocolate all by myself :)

In my free time, I enjoy working out (Crossfit), playing golf, hiking and travelling.

I have been volunteering at Audubon for the last 3 years, at events like Jog-a-thon, International Night, and Games Night. Our family’s first interaction with Audubon PTSA was the “Play and Meet” that happened prior to my son joining Kindergarten. The welcoming environment and sense of community have inspired me to give back to PTSA. This year, I’ll be serving as VP Outreach to make our community feel welcome and be connected. I love our multicultural community and we want everyone to feel included.
